Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a conditioning method which is superior in yield and performance and by which the quality of products can be enhanced by controlling the moving speeds of metallic ingots passing through a scarfer according to the surface characteristics of metallic ingots such as steel slabs.
CONSTITUTION: While a slab 81 is passing the position of HMD21 after the completion of required initial operation, the count results of an up counter 24 are attained to the pulse number P corresponding to the slab length by the input from a pulse transmitter 23.
