Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the troubles in a continuous casting mold by performing program controlling with the program target value at which the molten metal level approaches gradually to a fixed target value when pouring becomes anomalous outside the predetermined range.
CONSTITUTION: A reference level operating program setter 50 is provided to a molten steel level control unit in the continuous casting mold. For example, when the molten steel level becomes lower than the control lower limit level -L2, the program setter 50 operates to output the program target value G for resetting the target value of the molten steel level successively to the standard level L0 to a sliding nozzle injecting amount controller 32 and when said level becomes lower than -L, the program setter applies the target V-L lower by a drawing speed V to the drawing speed controller 38. When the molten steel level resets and first exceeds -L2, the program setter 50 gradually increases the target value of the drawing speed controller 38 from V-L up to V. Hence, the throubles such as breakout and overflow may be prevented from occuring.
