Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the productivity and the quality and to obtain reduction of man-hour by perfectly automatizing molten steel level control at initial period after starting casting to optimize reaching time into the aimed molten steel level and over-shoot. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel flow rate Q1 is adjusted by driving a stopper 9 upward/downward through a stopper driving device 10, and the molten steel 6 in a tundish 5 is supplied into tulip zone 8 through a nozzle 7. Casting condition and molten steel level detecting signal theta are inputted and the level control device 12 outputting stopper opening command Z and drum speed command V is constituted by an opening pattern arithmetic part 20, level aimed value arithmetic part 21, controller 22, control starting timing generating part 25 and switch 24. At the time of starting the casting, the stopper opening Z is pattern-controlled and when the molten steel level theta comes to near the aimed value theta*, the pattern control is exchanged into feed-back control by a level detecting value theta. By this method, start-up of the molten steel level is quickened and the over-shoot is prevented.
