Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the quality of molten metal at boundary part by arranging a nozzle having opening holes at side face and closing bottom face at one side and supplying the molten metal above static magnetic field zone into a mold. CONSTITUTION:The submerged nozzles 2, 3 are arranged into the molten metal pool 4 in the mold 1 and also in the nozzle 2 at upper part, the opening part 4a at the side face and the closing part 2b at the bottom face are arranged. Then, magnet forming the static magnetic field in the mold 1 is arranged at lower part of the nozzle 2. The molten metal 4a at the upper part pouring from the nozzle 2 is made to horizontal flow the opening part 2a of the nozzle, to supply into the molten metal pool 4. Then, as mixing of the molten metals 4a, 4b at the upper part and lower part is surely restrained by the magnet 7, the boundary face of the molten metals is made to clear. By this method, unstable intermediate structure at the boundary part is improved and the quality of the molten metal at the boundary part is improved.
