Abstract
PURPOSE:To shorten time for fitting and removing a weir and to reduce the cost by integrately fixing top parts of plural refractory-made colliding members by a refractory-made supplying member and fixing the supporting member to both side parts in a tundish as detachable. CONSTITUTION:The plural colliding members 4 for molten metal flow composing of flat-plate or bar shaped refractory are arranged and the top parts are fixed by the refractory-made supporting member 5. Both end parts of the supporting member 5 is fixed and supported to notched part 7 of the side wall 2, 2 of the tundish, and the upper surface thereof is abutted on side wall 9 of a tundish cover 8. By this method, the colliding member 4, 4... submerged into the molten metal flow is pushed by the lower surface of the cover 8 and to shock and buoyancy of the molten metal flow, they are surely secured. As the weir is beforehand assembled, the fitting and removing times into/from the tundish are shortened. As the material for the weir can be reused, the cost of the weir is reduced.
