Abstract
PURPOSE:To continuously cast a pipe without causing any repturing accident by disposing slits on the outside circumferential surface of a core and pouring melt between an outside mold and the core while supplying a lubricant into these slits. CONSTITUTION:Slits 5 of a predetermined width are disposed at predetermined intervals in a vertical direction on the outside circumferential surface of a continuously rotating water-cooled type hollow core 4. When molten steel 13 or the like is poured between a water-cooled outside mold 1 and the water-cooled core 4 while a lubricant 7 is being supplied into the slits 5, the molten steel 13 begins to solidify by being cooled from the inside and outside surface. At this time, the lubricant 7 descends in the slits 5, and contacts the inside surface of the metallic pipe under formation and further along with the rotating motion of the core 4, the lubricant 7 disperses circumferentially, and distributes uniformly and effectively between the inside surface of the metallic pipe and the outside circumferential surface of the core 4. This decreases the drawing force of the pipe and the driving force required for the rotation of the core 4, decreases the repturing accident of the pipe and increases operating stability.
