Abstract
1. A method for the continuous casting of steel, wherein molten metal is poured into a mould, and the resultant strand, having a liquid core, is with-drawn and guided and supported in a guide path, and turbulent flow is induced in the liquid core by at least two electromagnetic travelling fields, characterized in that simultaneously acting thrust forces of different magnitudes are produced by these travelling fields so that the flows caused by these thrust forces mutually influence each other.
