Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent lowering of molten steel temp. and to improve the quality of a casting by arranging a molten steel weir providing flowing hole of the molten steel as movable at near casting position in a tundish. CONSTITUTION:A cover body 10b is arranged on the tundish body 10a and also the movable weir 21 partitioning into steel receiving zone and casting zone in the tundish 10 is arranged. In the tundish 10, further a heating device of plasma torch 24, etc., is arranged and an inert gas supplying hole 16 and a slag removing hole 15 are arranged at the bottom part. At the time of pouring the molten steel into the tundish 10, the weir body 21 is rotated to make it open-state and at the time of casting the molten steel, the weir 21 is rotated at 90 deg. to make it shot-state. At the time of pouring the molten steel, the molten steel is flowed in the whole tundish 10 and the lowering of the molten steel temp. is prevented and at the time of casting, inclusion and slag are perfectly floated up. By this method, the lowering of the molten steel temp. is eliminated and the quality of the casting is improved.
