Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce an amount of HC and CO discharged in deceleration at cold temperatures by communicating with atmosphere one side chamber and another side chamber of a diaphragm which regulates a control valve to an opening motion, by means of a negative pressure passage and providing on the way of it a valve which opens at cold temperatures.
CONSTITUTION: A chamber 11 of a diaphragm 8 is communicated by a negative pressure passage 15 with a negative pressure outlet 16 upstream a throttle valve 3 being closed inside a suction port 1. A valve which is opened at low temperatures and in a high speed range is furnished in the passage 15. A solenoid 17a for actuating the valve 17 is connected to a power supply 19 via a water temperature sensor 18 of a switch which is closed when a temperature of water is detected low. A relay contact 20a whose closing motion is coupled with the excitation of a solenoid 20 connected to the power supply 19 via a vehicle speed sensor 21 which is closed in a high speed range, is supplied on the way of the solenoid 17a and the power supply 19. At low temperatures and under a deceleration state, an atmospheric pressure is carried into the chamber 11 to open a valve for a relatively long period so that a great amount of secondary air may be induced.
