Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain economically and readily the titled inexpensive filament having a cross section of round shape, corrosion resistance, toughness, and high permeability, by jetting a molten metal from a spinning nozzle to a rotating body having a cooling solution so that the metal filament is cooled, followed by winding.
CONSTITUTION: An alloy having amorphous form forming property (preferably alloy of Fe-Si-B type, alloy of Fe-P-C type) is jetted from a spinning nozzle to a rotating body having a cooling solution (preferably water, aqueous solution of electrolyte, etc.), and it is cooled and set to form a metal filament, which is continuously wound along the internal wall of the rotating body by its centrifugal force. In winding, the circumferential speed of the rotating body is faster than the jetting speed of the molten metal from the spinning nozzle by preferably 5W30%.
