Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an aluminium alloy with an excellent anti-pitting corrosion with addition of a specified amount of Zn to metal aluminium.
CONSTITUTION: 0.1 to 0.7% of Zn is added to metal aluminium with a purity of 99 to 99.99%% to produce a anti-pitting corrosion aluminium alloy. The addition of Zn lessens the strength of anti-pitting corrosion oxidized film formed on the surface of aluminium. As a result, it is converted to a total corrosion type in the corrosion form. Thus, local corrosion and pitting can be inhibited.
