Abstract

PURPOSE: To gather well-washed and dried activated carbon particles by natural falling by injecting boiling water into the water swishing-off process of multi-chamber rotary type filter and dropping dehydrated carbon onto the wire net shelf of a hot air drying furnace set under the filter.
CONSTITUTION: Chambers 2 divided equally and readially from bottom 1 of rotary drum A are formed, and draining outlets 4 are provided at the rotating direction sides contacting to bottom 1. Activated carbon slurry (a) is fed into chamber 2 from feed pipe 6 and filtered with wire net intermediate bottom 5. Filtrate (b) is drained from outlet 4. Rotation of filter A inclines wire net 5, facilitating filtration of slurry (a). During the filtration boiling water C is injected from feed pipe 7 to wash impurities in and among the carbon particles. Slurry (a) is then dehydrated and dropped onto wire net shelf 9 of hot air dryer B set under filter A. The dropped carbon is dried with hot air from hot air blow pipe 10, and welldried carbon particles naturally fall through the meshes of shelf 9.
