Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the clarity of filtrate and prevent the cake being mixed into the filtrate by the mechanism wherein a filter material is provided under tension and a filter leaf thereof having a heat exchanger inside is horizontally arranged, then a solution to be treated is passed through the filter material from a lower portion to an upper portion.
CONSTITUTION: A stock solution to be filterd which is introduced from an inlet 12 is passed within an inner ring 2 and flowed into each cake collecting chamber 5 from a hole 6. The filtrate is withdrawn through an outlet pipe 13, a combined pipe 14 and a head tank 15 and the solid fat is remained in a cake collecting chamber 5 in cake form. When cake is collected and the clogging of a filter cloth is generated, the supply of a stock solution is stopped and a residual solution is discharged from an inlet, thereafter steam is introduced into a heat exchanger 9 through a tube 10 to heat filter leaves 1. As a result, the residual cake is liquified by melting and introduced into an inner ring from a hole 6, then flowed downwardly and discharged from an inlet 12.
