Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable thorough continuous filtration as a filtering material is always washed, by pulling a lower filtering material out of a filtration vessel, washing the pulled-out filtering material and supplying the washed filtering material to the top of a filtration layer.

CONSTITUTION: Pressurized water introduced into a gas-mixed liquid injector 7 from a pressurized water pipe 9 sucks air from an air pipe 10 and the liquid mixed with the air is projected to a contaminated filtering material pick-up section 5. A contaminated filtering material at a contaminated filtering material pickout port 5 is stirred and fluidized by the impact pressure of the air-mixed liquid and the stirring and floating-up action of bubbles. At the same time, pressurized water introduced into anothr gas-mixed liquid injector 8 from the pressurized water pipe 9 sucks air in the same manner and is injected into a filtering material transfer pipe 6 so that the air-mixed water moves upward while stirring the contaminated filtering material in the transfer pipe 6. The filtering material in the pipe 6 is removed of deposited contaminative matters by the stirring action of the gas-mixed liquid and conducted to a contaminative matter removing means 13. The filtering material and the water containing the contaminative matters are separated from each other by a screen 13a. The washing water is drained through a pipe 15.
