Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to treat active carbon, filter paper, etc. as domestic waste by putting steam into a filter core, expelling the mixture of steam and solvent through the active carbon and filter paper and liquefying the same by a condenser.
CONSTITUTION: The solvent (a) having infiltrated into a cartridge (active carbon 3 and filter paper 4) and stored therein is recovered by using a filter 1. Valves 6 at an inlet 5 and an outlet 10 are closed and steam (b) is blown through the pipe 9 at the outlet into the core 2 of the filter 1. Then, the steam is blown into the filter paper 4 via the active carbon 3 through the holes 2a of the core and the mixed gas of the solvent (a) and the steam (b) expelled by the steam (b) passes through the pipe 8 at the inlet, enters a condenser 11 via the valve 6 and is cooled and liquefied by a coil 11a, thence in a separator 12, the water and the solvent (a) are separated and the solvent (a) is recovered.
