Abstract

PURPOSE: To obviate the necessity for a scale-preventing chemical in water-producing plant by using water obtained by the desalination of cooling sea water for condenser by utilizing effectively the waste heat of condenser.
CONSTITUTION: The sea water 13 is introduced into the flash evaporator 22 by the pump 18 to cool the evaporator and then put in the condenser 3, where the sea water is used for cooling waste vapor from the steam turbine 2 of generator, so that an approx. 5W10°C difference in temperature is produced between the outlet and inlet of the condenser 3 during a rated operation of the steam turbine 2. The sea water from the condenser 3 is introduced into flash evaporator 22 is discharged as desalinated water. Thus, utilizing the temperature difference in cooling sea water produced in the condenser 3, an open cycle, using the condenser inlet sea water as the cooling water for flash vapor and the condenser outlet sea water as the original water for disalination, is formed, in which desalinating original water is low in temperature. Thus, no scale-preventing chemical is required.
