Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to granulate and dry efficiently in combination with a compact equipment, by a method wherein a granulation zone and a drying zone partitioned by a weir are provided as one body in a rotary drum of a granulator.
CONSTITUTION: The interior of a drum body 11 of a rotary type combined granulator and dryer is partitioned into the granulation zone 12 and a drying zone 13, with the weir 37 provided on rhe inside peripheral surface of the drum at th boundary between the two zones 12, 13. Raw materials fed from a supplying pipe 26 and a chute are granulated at an appropriate water content and an appropriate temperature, the resulting granules are passed over the weir 37 into the drying zone 13, where they are immediately raked up by a straight lifter and are dried by contacting them countercurrently to hot air. Accordingly, the equipment is made to be compact by providing the granulation zone and the drying zone as one body, resulting in that granulation and drying can be conducted efficiently.
