Abstract
PURPOSE: To stabilize bolwing and improve the accuracy of blowing end-point control by detecting the change in the slag-making condition along with lapse of blowing time through measurement of the acceleration of a detecting body produced by the in-furnace motion of the slag and applying correcting to the blowing program.
CONSTITUTION: An acceleration detector loaded into a converter 8, i.e., a crystal vibrator 2 is mounted to the upper part of an oxygen-blowing lance 1. The signal detected here is subjected to waveform processing in a signal processing machine 3 and is then inputted to a computer 4. The computer 4 compares said signal and the preset correct level signal and commands the set changing of the elevating control machine 5 and oxygen feed rate control machine 6 of the lance 1. At this time, the waveforms having undergone signal processing corresponds to the slag-off condition in the furnace depending upon the magnitudes of crest indices and therefore, the computer 4 judges the slag-off condition and so comands as to increase or decrease lance height or oxygen flow or both thereof as to make the slag-off good.
