PURPOSE:To stabilize the conditions of this smelting furnce, by using coke with comparative, small strength by dividing the tuyeres of a blast furnace into main tuyeres and auxiliary tuyeres and by blowing in hot blasts with high oxidative component concentration from the auxiliary tuyeres in quantity less than the quantity of hot blasts from the main tuyeres. CONSTITUTION:In iron-manufacturing operation in a blast furnace, the tuyeres of the blast furnace are installed in shapes that are divided into main tuyeres 1 and auxiliary tuyeres 2. The auxiliary tuyeres 2 are located at portions lower than positions higher only by the 1/2 of an inner diameter of the blast furnace in some height of the main tuyeres 1. At the same time, the oxidative components of oxygen, steam, carbon dioxide, etc. in hot blasts blown in from the auxiliary tuyeres 2 shall be concentration not less than one and a half times in the molar fraction of oxidative components in hot blasts blown in main tuyeres 1.
