Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the excess suction of external air and the jet of exhaust gas to improve the recovery efficiency of CO gas by detecting slag level in the furnace during the period of recovery of the exhaust gas and carrying out the interruption control when the detection value exceeds a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:During the period of recovery of the exhaust gas of the converter 1, etc, the slag level in gas is detected as acoustic level in furnace by a sound meter 14 attached to an upper part of the hood 4. In the case where the slag level exceeds a predetermined value and foaming phenomenon is expected, the acoustic level detection value is fed to a slag level converter 15 to be processed as a signal. This signal is compared with a set value by a slag level difference detecting device 16. This difference signal is fed to a controller 11 and a control signal is fed to a servo device 13 as an interruption signal preceding normally to the control. Thus, a damper 12 is operated and the exhaust gas attaracting amount is determined. According to this method, the change in pressure in the hood is restricted to minimum.
