Abstract

PURPOSE:To optimize the amount of oxygen accumulated in the slag and promote dephosphrization, by determining the target variation curve of oxygen accumulated in slag preliminarily before starting operation of converter, and finding said oxygen amount from analysis of exhaust gas during operation, and controlling the blowing conditions to follow up the target variation curve. CONSTITUTION:Before starting blowing by a converter, the target line of variation curve of amount of oxygen accumulated in slag is determined in one of the three methods below. That is, the curve producing the best result in the previous blowing experience. Or, the curve showing the lowest production cost, obtaining the desired composition in the previous blowing experience. Or, the curve statistically or theoretically determined by investigating the causal relation between the curve obtained in previous blowing and the composition at the blowing-out point. In actual blowing operation, by comparing the analysis of exhaust gas and flow rate and amount of oxygen introduced in the converter, the amount of oxygen accumulated in the slag is calculated, and the oxygen feeding amount, quantity of iron ores, and other conditions are adjusted so as to follow up the excellent results in the three cases above, so that the FeO amount in the slag is optimized. At the same time, oxidation of P and dephosphorization reaction by FeO are promoted.
