Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent slopping and obtain optimum slag-off condition according to molten steel kinds by detecting the accelerations in the horizontal direction action upon the acceleration detector inserted into the converter based on the slag-forming motion formed through in-furnace reaction. CONSTITUTION:The accelerations in the horizontal direction acting upon the foregoing acceleration detector are supervised at all times and the slag-forming controlling is performed from the relations between their characteristic patterns and the slag-forming stages depending upon these. Namely, an electrode-type probe having the detection circuit which operates when made contact with the slag 10 formed on molten steel 9 is mounted to the sub-lance during the blowing operation in a converter 1. This sub-lance is suspended to perform both of the actual measurement of forming heights and the detection of the foregoing accelerations acting upon the O2- blowing lance 2. As a result of this, the detection accuracy of slag-off may be improved by performing the correction corresponding to the oxygen flow rate to the converter 1 and the set value of the lance 2 height. In the figure, 4 denotes a demodulator, 5 a waveform converter, 6 a recorder, 7 a process computer and 8 O2 flow rate setting, respectively.
