Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize the balance weights, by fitting them opposed to each other and at a right angle to the center of the crankshaft axis. CONSTITUTION:Crank arms 5, 6, 7 are fitted at equal angles of 120 deg. around the crankshaft's axis 0 and at a right angle to the second crank arm 6. The balance ratio R of the crankshaft 1 can be obtained by a formula omega2 (each weight of the balance weight 8, 9)=sq. rt. 3/4(Wr+RWp), then the total weight being W2=4omega2= sq. rt. 3(Wr+RWp). This means that the weight can be reduced by about 42% as compared with a conventional one.
