Abstract

PURPOSE:To correctly provide an operation of forward and backward starting, with a less amount of main and torsional vibration, by arranging six cylinders in the V- letter type with an angle of 45 degrees to make a firing in non-continuous order, and additionally providing a balancing weight of the flywheel so the crankshaft could cease its motion at a constant position. CONSTITUTION:One cylinder group 1-3 and another cylinder group 1'-3' are arranged in the V-letter type with its sloped angle made to 45 degrees, and the distance of crank angle between each cylinder 1-1', 2-2' and 3-3' is made to 45 degrees, respectively. The firing order is set to operate non-continuous firing likely as in order of the cylinder number 1-3'-2-1'-3-2', and a balancing weight W is installed to the flywheel so that the crankshaft may cease its motion in a proper midposition between top dead center positions of the cylinder No. 1 and 3' when an operation is finished. In this way, an opening angle of 135 degrees being provided in the both cylinder groups, a vector sum B of the tertiary force is reduced from that as in a straight-type 6-cylinder, thus an amount of vibration is lowered.
