Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title beverage readily drinkable, by treating a ginseng of relatively goung age in an original shape with hot water and an aqueous alcohol, and by adding the resulting ginseng to an ordinary carbonated drink.
CONSTITUTION: The rhizome of a ginseng of 1W3 years old reaped in a shape as original as possible is treated with hot water, immersed in a ≥50% aqueous alcohol for 5W12hr, and dried in air. The rhizome is then put into an ordinary carbonated drink prepared by the conventional method, and carbonic acid gas is dissolved under pressure to give the objective beverage. The extraction eliminates the peculiar smell or teste, renders the beverage readily drinkable, and prevents the ginseng from swelling soft.
