Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform the fermentation of the organic sludge in a short time and with the treting facilities that is simplified as much as possible, by liquefying the organic sludge after a dehyration process and then fermenting the liquid component.
CONSTITUTION: The organic sludge receives the primary concentration up to about 80% moisture content through the gravity precipitation, etc. and then a liquefying process. Then a heat treatment is carried out about 30 minutes through 3 hours at about 100W200°C under the application of pressure and by using an autoclave, for example. Thus about 50% liquefying process is done for the raw sludge, and then the solid and the liquid are separated from each other through the secondary mechanical dehydration process. As a result, the solid component (sludge) is separated from the liquid component (filtrate). The liquid component receives the methane fermentation or the alcohol fermentation to be collected as the methane or alcohol. While the solid component which is dehydrated up to about 50% moisture content is burnt directly ro be used as a heat source for the heat treatment for the autoclave at the front stage.
