Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure the high-speed switching by connecting the serial circuit of the auxiliary thyristor in which the commutating capacitor, the commutating reactor and the by-pass diode are connected in parallel to the main thyristor to be connected in series to the load. CONSTITUTION:When commutating capacitor 16 is charged along with conduction secured for main thyristor 11, auxiliary thyristor 15 is made to conduct. Thus the charge of capacitor 16 is discharged through auxiliary thyristor 15, main thyristor 11 and commutating reactor 17 each. And when the discharge current becomes larger than the load current, thyristor 11 is turned off. Thus the current exceeding the load current flows to main thyristor 12. When the adverse charge voltage of the commutating capacitor reaches the limit voltage of nonlinear resistor 13, the current is branched through current reducing resistor 14. Thus the negative voltage is applied to the terminal of inductive load 19, and then the load current is attenuated quickly to be ceased.
