Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable re-interruption after re-closing, by bypassing the current in the main circuit to the series circuit of the metal oxide system non-linear resistor and the current limit resistor so that the current can rapidly be distinguished. CONSTITUTION:To interrupt the current flowing to the main thyristor 11, the auxiliary thyristor 15 is made conductive. When the auxiliary thyristor is conducted, the charge in the commutation capacitor 16 is discharged through the auxiliary thyristor 16, main thyristor 11, commutation reactance 17. But, when the magnitude of the discharge current is greater than the load current, the main thyristor 11 turns off. When the discharge current exceeds the peak value, the capacitor 16 is charged to opposite polarity. When the terminal voltage across the capacitor 16 exceeds the limit voltage of the non-linear resistor 13, the load current branches to the series circuit of the non-linear resistor 13 and the current limit resistor 14. Negative voltage is fed to the inductive load 19 during this period and the load current is attenuated.
