Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an inrush current at turning a power source ON by a simple circuit by a method wherein when a charging voltage of a condenser reaches a set voltage, a circuit through which resistors are shortened is used. CONSTITUTION:In closing of an AC power source, a thyristor SCR is in OFF state, and charging to an input condenser C is started through a resistor R2 connected in parallel to the SCR and a protective resistor R1 connected in series to a rectifier circuit. When the voltages at both ends of the input condenser C reaches the set voltage after the start of charging, a transistor Q1 is turned ON so that the SCR is turned ON to allow the input condenser C to be charged through the resistor R1 and SCR and also make currents to be supplied to a load. Accordingly, with the resistor R2 selected for an appropriate value, the excess inrush currents in closing of the AC power source can be prevented.
