Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to secure the control voltage of the control power supply device which obtains a control power supply-voltage for a thyristor by utilizing the main-circuit voltage of the thyristor, even if the main-circuit voltage is lowered, by providing the device with a DC control power-source which utilizes the main-circuit current. CONSTITUTION:An overcurrent due to an accident with a load 5 causes the secondary voltage of a transformer 2 to lower extraordinarily and also the output of a control power supply device 8 to lower. On the other hand, the overcurrent causes the secondary current of a current transformer 10 to increase and the voltage across a resistor 12 to rise. Consequently, with the overcurrent generated in the load 5, a DC voltage, kept lower than a rated voltage by a Zener diode 13, is supplied to a gate control circuit 9 through a diode 15. Thus, even if the DC voltage of the control power supply device 8 is lowered, the gate control circuit 9 is constantly supplied with a fixed DC-voltage, so that the gate control of thyristor switches 3 and 4 can be normally performed.
