PURPOSE:To obtain not only a power supply device which can absorb the overvoltage but a highly reliable DC power source having a small resistance volume to the overvoltage, by incorporating an overvoltage preventing device into a butt power source. CONSTITUTION:The voltage of AC power sources E1 and E2 are transformed by a transformer 1, and the output voltage of a rectifier 2 is supplied to a DC load 3 through a fuse 7 and a diode 4 to ensure a normal operation mode while the output rectified by the rectifier 2 is kept at a prescribed DC voltage. In case when the output voltage of the rectifier 2 increases to exceed a prescribed value, a Zener diode is turned on to increase the current of conduction. Thus the fuse 7 has a fusing to give no effect of overvoltage to the DC load at all.
