Abstract

PURPOSE:To protect the output transistor from the breakdown at the short-circuit time of the load, by giving the short circuit to the base current of the control transistor via the diode and thus turning off the output transistor. CONSTITUTION:Output transistor (TR)14 has the ON/OFF action, and the base current of TR14 is controlled by control TR11. Then diode 13 is connected between the collector of TR14 and the base of TR11. Thus the short circuit is given to the base current of TR11 via diode 13 when load 15 has the short circuit. As a result, TR11 and then TR14 are turned off. In this way, the output TR can be prevented from the breakdown at the time of the short circuit fault.
