Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a switching element from damage caused by an output short- circuit fault and/or capacitive load, by such manner with the switching element turned on when a current in the inductor is decreased to a level of the first set value and turned off when reaching the second set value.
CONSTITUTION: A control circuit 10, in which a generated voltage in a resistor 3 is compared with the reference voltage by a first comparator 12 and fed to the reset input of a flip flop 15, and a generated voltage in a resistor 6 at the output side is compared with the reference voltage by a second comparator 13 and fed to the set input of the flip flop 15 through an AND gate 14, controls a transistor 2 through a drive 11. Accordingly, the control of on-off time of the transistor 2, made by detecting both of the primary and secondary current of a transformer 1, can prevent an increase of the collector current due to a short-circuit and overload, thus capable of improving a reliability.
