Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve a transient voltage characteristic in coasting control, by increasing the impedance of an armature circuit to change the transient voltage characteristic when an armature current falls below a prescribed level.
CONSTITUTION: The armature current is detected by a current detector 11 such as a current transformer. The detected value is applied to an opening instruction control circuit 12. When the detected value becomes lower than a set value in the circuit 12, an opening instruction is applied to a current reduction switch 5. With such a simple construction, the current reduction switch 5 is open and a current reduction resistor 4 is coupled in series with an armature 6 throughout coasting control to increase the impedance of an armature circuit in coasting to improve a transient voltage characteristic.
