Abstract
PURPOSE:To utilize the torque of a motor to its maximum limit by performing the field control to maintain the armature current to the minimum value in a range that the armature current becomes lower than the minimum value capable of securing the controlling accuracy in the maximum torque control. CONSTITUTION:An automatic current and current rate control device 100 controls the armature currents of motors 5, 15 based on the instructed winding tension value 301 applied from a computer 300. A field controller 200 controls the field current based on the motor voltage feedback signal 205 when the axial torque to be controlled is large, and controls the field current based on the instructd minimum current value 303 applied from the computer 300 in the range that the axial torque to be controlled is small and the armature current value is less than the minimum current value capable of securing the controlling accuracy.
