Abstract
PURPOSE: To make possible the control of constant tension through the simply constituted circuit, independently of the change in the diameter of coil, at the control of the constant tension of the strip, by employing a driving controller constituted of a special mechanism for controlling the motor for giving the tension.
CONSTITUTION: The coiler 1 for coiling the strip 5 is drived by the motor 1, whose driving is controlled by the thyristor-Leonard circuit 6 and the automatic field current controlling circuit on the exit side of the thyristor-Leonard circuit 6. The value of power of above motor 1 is obtained through the operation of the arithmetic circuit from the voltage Vt of the voltage detector 7 and the value of voltage drop IaR obtained through the voltage drop setting circuit 10. The detected value V of the line speed of strip 5 is multiplied by the tension setting circuit 14, and the command value P for the reference power is obtained. Above power P and the motor power are operated for comparison in the comparison arithmetic circuit 12, and the Leonard circuit 6 is controlled until above two values become equal. According to this method, the control of constant tension becomes possible by the simple constitution of the circuit, as compared with the conventional method.
