Abstract
PURPOSE:To control current smoothly by a method wherein a thyristor converter and a diode converter are subjected to a cascade connection at DC side, and a current fluctuation to arise in conjunction with a DC output voltage of the diode converter being zero instantaneously is suppressed. CONSTITUTION:When a trip signal 51 of an AC breaker 2-2 is generated to get the AC breaker 2-2 in contact parting due to a necessary DC output voltage having dropped below output voltage of a thyristor converter, output voltage of a diode converter 5 becomes zero. And when voltage comes below a constant value due to a voltage value from a voltage detector 10, a level detection circuit 11 decides that output voltage of the diode converter 5 has just been zero, closes an analog switch 12, inputs a signal 52 corresponding to output voltage of the diode converter 5 to an output of a current controlling circuit 7 as bias through interruption, advances a firing angle of the thyristor converter 4 instantaneously, and thus a voltage equivalent to that of the diode converter 5 is corrected instantaneously with the thyristor converter 4.
