Abstract
PURPOSE:To reaidly protect an inverter against an overcurrent by setting all conversion switch elements of a DC/AC converter to OFF state when the detected output current value of the converter exceeds the prescribed current value corresponding to the overcurrent level of the inverter. CONSTITUTION:A constant voltage controlled type DC/AC converter 4 has the first to fourth switch elements S1-S4, reedback first to fourth rectifying diodes D1-D4, an output transformer 11 and a switch control circuit 12. A voltage detecting line 13, a current detecting line 14 and a commercial power source voltage detecting line 10 are connected to a control circuit 12 for controlling the switch elements S1-S4. When the detected output current value of the converter detected by a current detector 20 exceeds the prescribed current value corresponding to the overcurrent level of the inverter, the circuit 12 sets all the switch elements S1-S4 to OFF state.
