Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the sustenance of an abnormal state and enhance reliability by providing a protecting circuit which releases output voltage when said output voltage drops below the reference voltage having been set at a level lower than the reference voltage for controlling output voltage. CONSTITUTION:When a power switch 4 is turned on to supply a DC power source 6, the DC output voltage of a switching regulator is generated in an output terminal 24 and is supplied to a load 26. A protecting circuit 40 which releases the output voltage of the terminal 24 by instantaneously disabling the switching regulator when the output of the terminal 24 drops below prescribed reference value is provided to this switching regulator. The circuit 40 is constituted of a switching circuit which disables a transistor 2 which is a switching element for controlling output and a transistor 10 for driver.
