Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve breakdown strength against the surge of a solid-state relay circuit by setting the breakdown voltage of a circuit for gate control over a triac lower than that of the triac. CONSTITUTION:A solid-state relay SSR circuit is applied with an input signal through terminals A and B, and an AC power source is connected between terminals C and D. Between the terminals C and D, a triac TRA1 is connected in parallel to a snubber circuit composed of a capacitor C1 and a resistance R1, and a rectifying bridge composed of a current control resistance R2 and diodes D1-D4, and a gate control circuit 2 composed of an SCR coupler 2', etc, are connected to the TRA1, whose gate is connected to the terminal D through a resistance R3 and is inputted to the rectifying bridge. When a surge voltage is applied between the terminals C and D, the SCR coupler 2' is broken down before the TRA1, so a discharging current from the C1 flows to the circuit 2 through the resistance R2 to lower the peak value of the discharging current, preventing the TRA1 and SCR3' from being broken down.
