Abstract

PURPOSE:To fire an antiparallel main thyristor by a light auxiliary thyristor by bridging a DC terminal of a rectifying bridge circuit formed of diodes via the light auxiliary thyristor and a gate current suppressing resistor. CONSTITUTION:The gate electrodes of respective main thyristors TH1, TH2 are connected to two AC terminals of full rectifying bridge circuit of diodes D1-D4, and two DC terminals of the circuit are bridged via a series connection circuit of a light auxiliary thyristor PTH and a gate suppressing resistor RGO. When a fire instruction light from a fire controller of a ground potential is, for example, applied to the thyristor PTH, the latter is conducted to flow a firing gate current to one gate electrode of the thyristors TH1 and TH2 in response to the polarity of the voltage applied to the main thyristors TH1, TH2.
