Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve working efficiency and achieve the standardization of cells by forming not less than 3 rows of plural display cells to two sheets of electrode substrate blanks and so providing lead-in paths that liquid-form electro-optic material may be injected into each cell through one injection operation.
CONSTITUTION: The electrodes and electrode terminals respectively necessary for the portions to become segment electrodes 1aW1c, 1gW1i and common electrode 1dW1f, 1jW1l substrates are formed to, e.g., an electrode substrate blank 1 and those necessary for the portions to become the substrates for common electrodes 2aW2c, 2gW2i and segment electrodes 2dW2f, 2jW2l in opposition to the blank 1 are formed to an electrode substrate blank 2. Prior to the formation of the electrodes, parting scribe lines 5, 6 along the delineating lines of the respective cells are formed respectively in the blanks 1, 2. Sealing material 7 is so coated to the blank 2 by a screen printing method or the like as to form the respective cells, after the electrode formation. At this time, it is so coatd as to form the injection ports 10a, 10b for liquid crystals, etc.; main lead-in paths 8a, 8b; branch lead-in paths 9a, 9b; injection ports 11 of the respective cells. Next, the blanks 1, 2 are superposed and secured and the liquid crystals, etc. are injected through the injection ports 10a, 10b, whereby the liquid crystals, etc. are packed in all the cells through only one operation.
