Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve additional cost reduction of the liquid crystal cells by forming patterns of common electrode groups and display electrode groups respectively in two rows on a pair of substrates and specifying and integrating liquid crystal injection port positions then chipping to individual liquid crystal cells.
CONSTITUTION: The same display electrodes 7 are formed in two rows on the first substrate 1'. The same common electrodes 8 are formed in two rows in correspondence to the electrodes 7 on the second substrate 1. Next, sealing material 2 is printed on the substrate 1 and liquid crystal injection ports 3 are formed on both side parts of the substrate 1. The substrates 1, 1' are integrated by way of the sealing material 2, forming a cell group. A metal is evaporated near the injection ports 3 and liquid crystal is injected and filled through the injection ports 3 into the space part of each cell group, after which the injection ports 3 are sealed. Next, the plural liquid crystal cell groups having been perfected are chipped along the longitudinal and transverse chipping lines.
