Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible parting of each cell simple and easy by difering the depth of the scribe lines to be formed in both blanks in the process for production of cells to produce a multiplicity of cells by forming a plurality of cells between two sheets of substrate blanks and cutting these.
CONSTITUTION: In the method of forming a multiplicity of liquid crystal cells by bonding an electrode substrate blank 1 segmented to plural electrode substrates 1a thru 1l and an electrode substrate blank 2 segmented to plural electrode substrates 2a thru 2l by way of a sealing material 7 enclosing the respective electrode substrates and sealing liquid crystals through injection ports 9 respectively then cutting these to discrete cells, the scribing depth of the scribe lines 5 to be formed in the non-electrode face of the electrode substrate blank 1 is made larger than the scribing depth of the scribe lines 6 to be formed in the electrode surface of the blank 2. When with the both scribe lines formed in the abovementioned manner force is applied in the scribing direction (downward) of the scribe lines, the blank 1 first cracks along the scribe lines 5 then the blank 2 cracks along the scribe line 6, where by both blanks are accurately parted with respect to the scribe lines 5, 6 and are surely separated to the respective cells.
