Abstract
PURPOSE: To lessen the number of steps and materials in cell separation work by laminating and superposing at least 3 or more sheets of large-size substrates which have been arranged and formed with electrode for a plurality of electrode substrates, and enabling plural multiple type electro-optic display cells to be assembled at one time.
CONSTITUTION: The 1st segment electrode 5 and the 2nd common electrodes 8 are formed on an upper large-size substrate A and a lower large-size substrate C at exactly the same pattern. The 1st common electrodes 6 and the 2nd segment electrodes 7 are formed on both top and under surfaces of an intermediate large-size substrate at exactly the same patterns. Here, the sealing materials in the figure are shown by 4. Namely, these are assembled to the cell aggregate in which the cells with the top face facing upward and the cells with the under face facing downward are alternately arranged. After this, the large-size substrates A, B, C are parted at parting lines 11a, 11b, 11c, whereby they are separated to individual cells. These enable all the electrodes necessary for all the large-size substrates to be formed by simply using the pattern masks of the same number as that of electrochemical material layers, thus the number of separation steps to invidual cells may be decreased and the waste of materials is eliminated.
