Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the mutual connection of the solar cell elements making only to come in contact with other elements by a method wherein the solar cell elements are provided on a base plate, and at the same time wiring terminals made of a conductive material to be connected to wiring terminals of other elements of the solar cell are provided at the side faces of the base plate. CONSTITUTION:A photovoltaic element consisted of a lower electrode layer 2, a P-N junction layer 3 generating photovoltage, an upper electrode layer 4 formed as comb-shaped electrode or a transparent electrode, etc., is formed on an insulating base plate 1 made of alumina or glass. Plurality of the elements are put on an insulator layer 8 and are connected in series to constitute the solar cell structure. At this time, the connection is made as follows. Wiring terminals 10 made of metal plate are sticked to the side face of the base plate 1 and are connected to the electrodes 4 and 2 using a conductive adhesive or a solder 11, and are fixed to the base plate 1 with an adhesive 12. By this way, the mutual connection between each element can be attained simply by contacting the terminals 10 with each other and being fixed, and suitable for mass production.
