PURPOSE:An inexpensive packing having a high vapor-liquid contact efficiency and a simple structure, i.e., a combination of almost paralleled plural itrip plates whose lower part is notched. CONSTITUTION:In the lattice-shaped packings 29 and 39, liquid going down along the sides of the strip plates 32a, 32b,...32h of the lattice-shaped packing 29 is separated at the upper part of the notch 33, introduced to the strip plates 42a, 42b,...42h consisting of the plate group 40 without such waste as dropping into the aperture of the plate group 40 of the next stages, lattice-shaped packing 39, and then continues to go down along the sides of the strip plates 42a,... Since, in this way, each of the strip plates serves as liquid divider, liquid divider in piling up the lattice-shaped packings is unnecessary, and on the other hand, vapor-liquid contact efficiency can be remarkably raised. This type of lattice-shaped packing can also be easily manufactured by one-face molding method.
