Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of electrode pattern deviations at the time of press-sticking operation under heating by providing extension parts on at least one side of a pair of electrode substrtes, superposing both front and back electrodes and applying tentative fixing to the extension parts by means of an instantaneous-setting or quick-setting adhesive agent.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of making simultaneous production of plural liquid crystal display element in particular, peripheral sealing material (may serve also as a spacer) 4 is printed on one substrate 1 out of the substrates 1, 2 having been formed with display elements 2, 3 respectively and having undergone orientation treatment, after which the patterns of the electrodes 2, 3 are superposed. Next, the extension parts 16 of the substrates 1, 2 are tentatively fixed by using an instantaneous setting adhesive agent 7 such as cyanoacrylate adhesive agent. Thence, it is set while the shape of the sealing material 4 is controlled under heating and pressing. Thence, a liquid crystal 6 is injected and is sealed, and the assembly is cut at the cutting lines A, B to perfect individual liquid crystal display elements 7. In this way, the deformation in the patterns of the electrodes 2, 3 is prevented at the press-sticking under heating and the yield of the high quality elements is improved.
