Abstract
PURPOSE:To carry out uniform one-side hot dipping with ultrasonic vibration by providing other ultrasonic vibration tip in the vicinity of a guide roll at the side where a metal sheet separate from the surface of a molten metal bath, to stabilize the meniscus of the bath. CONSTITUTION:Metal strip 5 is introduced over molten metal bath 3 the upper part of which is kept under a reducing atmosphere. It is moved in parallel with the surface of bath 3 at a very short distance from the surface with first and second guide rolls 6,7, and contacted to the molten metal raised by the ultrasonic vibration of tip 10 to hot dip the under surface of strip 5. Thus, an unstable meniscus and a rippling phenomenon are canceled when strip 5 of roll 7 separates.
