Abstract
PURPOSE:To plate the single side of a steel sheet with hot dipping, by making the molten metal fluidize and rise by electromagnetic force, and by bringing a plating roll, to a portion of which is adhered the molten liquid, into contact with the under surface of the steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:At the base of a tank 1 contg. molten plating-metal 5 such as zinc is attached an inclined guide plate 3 made of a non-magnetic material, and an electromagnetic pump 8 is installed under the guide plate 3 and outside the tank 1. Above the molten metal bath 5 is installed a furnace for protecting the atmosphere in the tank in order to keep the atmosphere reducing or neutral. Molten metal bath 5 is fluidized and raised along the guide plate 3 by means of the pump 8 so as to be adhered to a plating roll 7, the quantity of the adhered molten metal beig regulated by means of a wiping nozzle 7'. The steel sheet 9 which runs through the furnace 10 is plated at the under surface thereof with the molten metal adhered to the plating roll while passing through between a pressure roll 6 and the plating roll 7. Hereby, a single-side plated steel sheet having plated layer of reasonable thickness is manufactured.
